Love that Lasts Two Lifetimes: Chapter 1

Gabrielle sobbed “You promised...! You said you’d always be there...!”

She looked at his face, serene and peaceful. His mouth was in a permanent smirk, his hair in a eternal tousled state. His eyelids were forever closed, hiding his unusual ruby red eyes. Not like his silvery-white hair wasn’t  unusual as well.

Several tears that were spilling down her cheeks landed on his, spilling down his cheeks “But you left me behind...!”

The apparition behind her seemed to disagree “No! That’s not it, Elle!”

She just kept ignoring the spirit as if she couldn’t see him, which was the case. The brunette just wiped his wet cheeks dry. Calming down, she whispered “Gosh! That black tux doesn’t suit you! Formal things never did, did they?”

The manifestation behind her smiled “What the hell! I look good in anything!” He tried to wipe away her tears, which failed miserably since he couldn’t even touch her.

Gabrielle felt a chill, though.

She wiped all her tears away and smoothed her red sundress. She wanted to wear Gilbert’s favorite color.

It was his funeral, after all.

“For you...!” She smiled sadly as she picked up a bouquet that was on the ground and put it in the coffin with him. It was made of different roses.

This made Gilbert’s smile disappear.

The bouquet consisted of  pink, yellow, yellow with red tips, orange, a coral shade, lavender, black, blue, dark pink, white red roses; one each. All of which were thorn-less.

“Hoffen wir uns wiedersehen, Gilbert”
