Fairytale Gone Bad: Chapter 4

[Isabella de la Cruz]

“Vell, basically, Lower Earth is ze place vere creatures live.” Ludwig started.

“Creatures are-a people like us, bella! Lupinotuum, Canale Taberus, Pretium Volpes! Those-a are only a few of dozens of species!” Feli added.

I tilted m head a bit to the side in confusion. Gilbert just face-palmed “Feli! You’re not helping!”

Then he turned to me “Creatures are basically not like Mundanes. Zose fairytale people you read about?”

I nodded.

“Zose are only Mundane versions of us...” He explained.

Kiku then pointed out that some mythical creatures are actually real creatures from Lower Earth, ‘Mundanes’ discovered some and distorted them to their liking.

“Like?”

“Ze Vampire zat people talk and write about?”

I nodded, making a small ‘yea’ sound.

Gilbert explained how vampires are actually just this breed of creatures called, Vespertillionem. It was actually quite entertaining. Vespetillionem were Catholics and Cristians!

I made a small ‘oh’ sound, as I was very surprised about that.

Then Kiku interjected and said that Were-wolves are a different type of specie too! He said they were a half-specie creature, being half-Vespertillionem and half-Lupinotuum. All half-specie creatures were apparently named Daemonum.

Feli then pointed out “Daemonum are creatures that-a have been infected by two different creatures at-a the same time OR had two parents with-a different species~!”

“Infected? What-” I wondered. What did THAT mean?

“Vhen a Mundane drinks creature blood...” Ludwig interrupted

Then he went on to explain how it exactly worked. Apparently the creature blood spreads through the ‘Mundane’ body and attacks the cells, inserting new DNA in them. The ‘Mundane’ then slowly turns into that creature.

It sent shivers down my spine.

“So... How come peo- Mundanes turn into Vampires when they get bit by them?” I asked

“Well, bella! Vespertillionem are-a the real Vampires and that only happens because-a when a Vespertillionem bites you, he puts blood in the wound~!”

I made another small ‘oh’

This was a information overload!

“Wow! This is so cool and all-” I started but was interrupted by a knock on the clinic door

“Can anybody go in the Asylum?” I mini-panicked

“Nein. Only certain creatures can.”

His words repeated in  my head as the door opened “...Only certain creatures can"

Sh*t! What does that make me?
