[Isabella de la Cruz]
I grinned before a thought crossed my head and my grin slowly disappeared “Why are you all telling me this? I’m just a Mundane girl...!”
Gilbert chuckled as everyone else had a look of confusion cross their faces.
“She doesn’t know yet” Gilbert simply stated. A mix of relief and realization swept through the room, excluding Roma and Feli.
I was even more confused “W-What?”
Roma then shook his head “Didn’t your Nonna teach you anything, amore?”
I shook my head “I only found out all of this because of you guys...”
Even more confusion appeared on Roma’s face.
“But, bella signora, your Nonna is supposed to-a teach you stuff like that!” Feli whined
“My Nonna, Gramama, didn’t teach me anything other than where to go if the quadruple Ouroboros came, the four snakes eating each others tails...! That and the fact that Lower Earth, Middle Earth and Upper Earth existed!” I defended my Gramama
“Bruder! Habt ihr Großmutter wissen?” Ludwig then asked his brother.
Gilbert shook his head, a small frown appearing on his face “Nein ... Ihre Großmutter nicht wusste! Ich dachte immer, sie dachte, ich wäre eine Katze”
They were talking about my a Gramama, that was all I could understand. Something about Gilbert being a cat and if Gramama knew something, I didn’t understand German as well as Italian.
“What the hell are you-a saying!? We deserve to know, don’t we!? Look how-a worried you made the bella signora!” Roma pointed out.
I didn’t even realize that I looked so worried till Gilbert said ‘Es tut mir leid’ which was German for I‘m sorry.
“Nah! It’s okay! If you’re talking in German that means you don’t want us to know! I get that you guys need privacy! It’s alright!” I shrugged it off.
Gilbert’s smirk quickly settled back in place as I was talking. I saw that as a positive thing, since that smirk is one of the things that makes Gilbert, well, Gilbert!
“¡Sí! I agree with Isabella! If you need privacy, go right ahead and talk German!” Antonio agreed
Kiku made a small nod and Feli uttered a ‘Sí!’, meaning they agreed. Roma just looked away from us, his blush deepening in shade.
Gilbert looked at his brother then shook his head “Nein, you guys have ze right to know vhat ve are talking about.” Then he looked at me, smirking, and continued “Especially you, Lieben, since we are talking about your Großmutter!”
I nodded.
“Vell, Ve vere just talking about how veird it vas zat Isabella’s Großmutter didn’t know zat mein Bruder vas a Canale Taberus, much less a creature. She vas supposed to. Und it’s also veird zat she didn’t tell you vat you are...” Ludwig explained
I was just more confused “What am I then...?”
Gilbert smirked “Ze Puella, Regina Puella”
I shook my head rapidly “I can’t be anything other than a normal Mundane being! I have nothing extraordinary about me!”
“That’s-a because you don’t have-a the Aurea with you!” Roma corrected
I shook my head and opened my mouth to say something but Gilbert interrupted me “You are ze Regina Puella und I have proof.”
I looked at him expectantly.
“You’ve vished on a vishing star und ze next day it came true.”
“That’s stupid!”
“Ze vishing star vas a painted star on your old room vall.” Gilbert smirked
I shook my head “So!? Does the Puella have the power to grant wishes!?”
Everyone muttered yes in their language all in unison.
“Then why didn’t it work a few hours ago, when I was wishing for Gramama to come down into the Asylum?!” I countered
“You’re missing your Aurea.” Gilbert’s smirked visibly grew.
I looked at everyone “Aurea...?” My voice slowly dissipated towards the end of the statement and
became more of a question instead of a regular statement.
“Sí! Sí! A beautiful necklace-a made of enchanted gold and-a charmed silver! E 'davvero bella!” Feli chirped, his last sentence being ‘It’s really pretty’ in Italian.
I nodded, less confused and a tad bit more comfortable “What does it exactly do? And why do I need it?”
Antonio cleared his throat, attracting our attention. He then clarified that the Aurea was the only thing of it’s kind and that it could grant any wish and become anything you want it to become. The catch was that only my species, the Puella, could manipulate it.
Antonio’s accent was very funny seeing as he couldn’t say the letter ‘y’ and said ‘j’ instead. Same with the letters ‘th’. He pronounced it as ‘d’
It seemed reasonable, but there was another catch
“Jou are de only Puella left, seeing as dere is only one Puella every cinco o seis generations...” Antonio stated casually. ‘cinco o seis’ meaning five or six in Spanish.
I shook my head rapidly before resting my face in my palms, my elbows resting on my legs.
I tried to take it all in. The accents, the creatures, the information, the changes it was going to bring.
Everything they just told me.
“Lieben...” I heard a voice next to my ear, a hand on my shoulder. Gilbert’s probably trying to comfort me.
It wasn’t working
“You suck at trying to make people feel better...” I mumbled into my hands as everyone chuckled, probably excluding Ludwig.
I then fell back onto my back, my hands spreading to my sides “Can I try to grasp this overnight?”
Everyone droned out a small yes or a sure in their own language.
I smiled a little before getting up and heading to the door “You guys decide the lodging!” Then I paused and added, sarcastically “But I get first pick, since I am the ‘Puella’!”
I almost got to the other side of the door when Ludwig stopped me “Gilbert has to sleep vith you zough!”
I peeked back into the room, my cheeks probably red “Wh-Wh-What?!”
“Vhat Bruder meant vas zat I have to sleep in ze same room as you.” Gilbert shrugged, as if it happened to him all the time.
I groaned “Why?!”
“Safety reasons, I guess.” He smirked even more.
“Fine!” I whined before stomping off.
‘I will find a way to NOT share a room with him’ I thought as I felt my face heat up even more.
